The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Funko Pops!
Harry Potter has come to be one of the most popular film and book franchises in the world and it’s easy to understand why. It is a 7-book series which has sold more than 500 million copies and an eight-part film series by Warner Bros. Pictures. Since the release of the movies, Funko quickly jumped at the opportunity to create figures of all our favourite characters and movie moments.
The Harry Potter Funko Pop collection currently holds 134 single-figure pops which include main characters such as Harry, Hermione, Ron, Albus Dumbledore, Lord Voldemort, Snape, and Hagrid. The range of Funko Pops also includes many side characters and fan favourites such as Luna Lovegood, the Weasley Brothers, Ginny Weasley, Minerva McGonagall, Neville Longbottom, Draco and even the Patronus’ of our beloved main characters.
The amount of Funko Pops in this franchise doesn’t stop there. Funko has released 10 packs since 2015 that each consist of two to four characters in a single box. One of these packs includes a rare set of Ginny, Fred and George figures, dressed in their Irish colours at the Quidditch World Cup which is featured in the 4th movie. These Pops is an Emerald City Comic Con exclusive from 2019 and is valued at $105 currently.
There are another five Funko Pops that are replicas of the main buildings in Diagon Alley that feature Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, and Gringotts Head Goblin at Gringotts Bank. Furthermore, there are four more Funko Pops. This includes Harry with the Hogwarts Express Engine, Hermione with the Hogwarts Express Carriage, Ron with the Hogwarts Express Carriage and Harry, Hermione and Ron riding the Gringotts Dragon. These Funko Pops are in the category of the size chart referred to as “Pop Town” figures. Anything in the “Pop Town” category is between 5-7 inches in size.
The last Funko Pop on the list is none other than the 18-inch version of Harry with Hedwig. There are currently eight (or more) types of 18-inch Pops! This is a super-sized Pop which is pricey and difficult to get a hold of if you have to ship from overseas.
Harry Potter’s Funko list is filled with many extraordinary Pops that fans are itching to get their hands on. Some of the rarest HP Funko Pop includes the chase version of Sirius Black which is a black and white version of the original. This is rare because it is the only “chase” variant in the entire HP collection. Chases also have a one in six chance of being found among commons, therefore it is highly sought after and very difficult to find.
What is the most expensive Funko Pop in the collection?
That is arguably the most asked question in any Funko franchise. Well, we have the answer for you! The most expensive and rarest Funko in the Harry Potter Collection is Luna Lovegood with her Spectrespecs! This is an SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) exclusive from 2017. Luna has various other Pops but this one is her most iconic look, in our opinion and many others too. This Pop is very eye-catching, colourful, and fully expresses Luna’s lovely personality. This Funko Pop is now extremely difficult to find and is currently valued at $135 which is around roughly R2 100!
