The Universe of Marvel Funko Pops!

The Universe of Marvel Funko Pops!

A Short History

The Marvel franchise was started all the way back in 1939 by a man named Martin Goodman. At the time, the company was named Timely Comics and later became known as Atlas Comics from 1951 to 1961. The iconic Marvel name came into existence in 1961 and has become more well-known as the years go on.

This was the year when some of our most loved stories were created by Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby and many more. This brand became a solid foundation and grew into the massive fandom that it is today.

After the release of some of the most famous comics from Marvel, many of them were adapted into films. Marvel’s film franchise has been in steady production ever since. The first film ever released in the company’s acclaimed Cinematic Universe was Iron Man (2008). Since then, Marvel has created and released 29 films, with at least 14 more that are still to come, each in different stages of production and development.

Marvel has become the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, with their films having grossed over $27 Billion at the box office which includes their highest-grossing film of all time, Avengers: Endgame.
